There is always something happening down the hill. Rodeos and festivals in summer, bugling elk in fall, a lantern-lit parade at the holidays, and quiet winter fests when the crowds are gone. Here is the year in Estes Park, with the lodge waiting ten minutes above it all.
March to May
Spring: the quiet warm-up.
Spring is the sleeper season: waterfalls at full roar, the best rates of the year, and a town easing back to life. The signature spring event is Bigfoot Days, a weekend of live music, vendors, and all things squatchy that has become a local favorite.

June to August
Summer: the full calendar.
Summer is when the calendar fills up. The Wool Market brings fiber arts and animals in June, the Rooftop Rodeo runs its world-class stock in July, and the Estes Park Wine Festival pours in Bond Park in August, all within a few minutes of the lodge.

September to November
Fall: elk, tartans, and the first lights.
Our favorite stretch. The Longs Peak Scottish-Irish Highland Festival brings pipes and tartans in September, Elk Fest celebrates the bugling herds in October, and the holidays open with the Catch the Glow parade the Friday after Thanksgiving.

December to February
Winter: the town's own season.
When the crowds leave, the locals come out. December glows with holiday lights and shopping, January brings the Frost Giant Winter Festival, and February pairs local wineries and chocolatiers at the Wine and Chocolate Festival. Then back to the lodge for the fire.
